What Is Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic

What Causes Shoulder Blade Pain and How to Relieve It

Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractors are trained to locate and correct upper neck spinal misalignments that impact the central nervous system function aberrantly. This is done through neurological tests that indicate the presence or absence of nerve irritation and at what level it is occurring.;

Once determined precise imaging is used in the form of cone beam computed tomography or digital x-ray to look at each individual joint to determine the direction and magnitude of misalignment. ;

What Happens During An Asthma Attack

Exposure to allergens can cause asthma attacks.

The lungs are like trees with many branches, but instead of leaves at the end, there are balloon-like air sacs that inflate and deflate to help a person breathe. The tree’s trunk and the branches that lead from it are all part of the airways.

These airways are usually open, allowing oxygen to fill the air sacs in the lungs. However, when a person has asthma, the linings of the airways become inflamed and irritated or can swell or have extra mucus present.

These situations can make breathing harder because a person cannot move as much air through a smaller airway.

Sometimes, people can experience an acute asthma flare-up known as an asthma attack.

What Does Asthma Feel Like

Asthma is characterized by inflammation of the bronchial tubes with increased production of sticky secretions inside the tubes. People with asthma experience symptoms when the airways tighten, inflame, or fill with mucus. Common asthma symptoms include:

  • Coughing, especially at night
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness, pain, or pressure

Still, not every person with asthma has the same symptoms in the same way. You may not have all of these symptoms, or you may have different symptoms at different times. Your asthma symptoms may also vary from one asthma attack to the next, being mild during one and severe during another.

Some people with asthma may go for extended periods without having any symptoms, interrupted by periodic worsening of their symptoms called asthma attacks. Others might have asthma symptoms every day. In addition, some people may only have asthma during exercise, or asthma with viral infections like colds.

Mild asthma attacks are generally more common. Usually, the airways open up within a few minutes to a few hours. Severe attacks are less common but last longer and require immediate medical help. It is important to recognize and treat even mild asthma symptoms to help you prevent severe episodes and keep asthma under better control.

How To Treat Rhomboid Muscle Pain

Resting and refraining from any activity that causes rhomboid muscle pain will help you recover quickly. The first line of treatment is the RICE method:

  • Rest. Rest your arms and shoulders as much as possible. Refrain from any activities that use these muscles.
  • Ice. Ice your shoulder for 20 minutes at a time several times per day. Its especially important to ice the affected area immediately after a strain or injury.
  • Compression. Wrap the area in a compression bandage to reduce swelling.
  • Elevation. Keep your shoulder and chest lifted or supported using pillows while youre lying down or sleeping.

You may take over-the-counter pain relievers to relieve discomfort and inflammation. These include ibuprofen and acetaminophen .

You can apply topical pain relievers such as creams, gels, and sprays to the affected area, too. Topical pain relievers such as diclofenac and salicylates are thought to have a lower risk of side effects. This is because less of the drug is absorbed into the blood, and the drug bypasses the gastrointestinal tract.

You may consider applying essential oils diluted in a carrier oil to reduce pain and inflammation. Here are 18 essential oils that may help relieve sore muscles.

After a few days of icing your shoulder, you may wish to apply heat. You can use a heating pad or a warm compress. Apply the heat source for 20 minutes at a time several times per day. You can alternate between hot and cold therapy.

    What Causes Lung Pain In The Back

    Shoulder Blade Pain Relief – 4 Ways

    If you have discomfort while breathing or feel a nondescript pain in your upper back or chest, you may worry that something is wrong with your lungs. A number of ailments can cause chest or back pain, some as simple as a strained muscle or seasonal allergy. It also could be a sign of a more serious condition like lung cancer. But while you’re determining where the pain is coming from, you would be surprised to learn that lung tissue does not actually have pain receptors. The nerve endings that have pain receptors are actually in the lung lining, called the pleura. An injury to the lining of the lung, inflammation due to an infection or invasion by cancer can all cause pain in the chest.

    In the case of lung cancer, back or chest pain is caused by the tumor irritating the nerve endings in the pleura, as well as in the bone or muscles that the tumor is invading. Pain also can be the result when cancer growth limits the blood supply to an organ or triggers the formation of blood clots.;Lung cancer can occur in locations throughout the chest, so there is no specific location that will indicate that the pain you’re feeling is due to lung cancer. However, lung cancer usually does not cause any symptoms in the early stages of the disease. Common symptoms of lung cancer, in addition to chest pain, include persistent coughing, shortness of breath, production of bloody phlegm, weight loss, weakness, fatigue and recurrent pneumonia.

    Increased Myocardial Demand Or Decreased Oxygen Supply

    Chest pain may be the first complaint that points to an unsuspected anatomic heart defect. Pain associated with palpitations, dizziness, and panic attacks may be the presenting symptoms in some patients who have mitral valve prolapse . Mitral valve prolapse usually is associated with a midsystolic click and, occasionally, an apical mid-to-late systolic honking murmur. Bisset and colleagues reported that only 18% of patients in a group of 119 children who had mitral valve prolapse complained of atypical chest pain.

    Patients who have left ventricular outflow tract obstruction in the form of stenosis of the aortic valve, subaortic valve area, or supra-aortic valve area or who have coarctation of the aorta may present with chest pain associated with dizziness and fatigue. In aortic valve stenosis, a harsh ejection systolic murmur with radiation to the neck is heard on auscultation. An ejection click from a stenosed bicuspid aortic valve may be heard.

    Chest pain in association with exercise intolerance and fatigue may be the initial presenting complaint of patients who have hypertrophic or dilated cardiomyopathy.

    Know The Asthma Symptoms In Children

    Asthma affects as many as 10% to 12% of children in the United States and is the leading cause of chronic illness in children. For unknown reasons, the incidence of asthma in children is steadily increasing. While asthma symptoms can begin at any age, most children have their first asthma symptoms by age 5.

    Not all children with asthma wheeze. Chronic coughing with asthma may be the only obvious sign, and a childâs asthma may go unrecognized if the cough is attributed to recurrent bronchitis.
