What We Do
An allergist is a physician specially trained to diagnose and treat allergies, asthma, and diseases of the immune system in both children and adults. Becoming an allergist requires completion of at least nine years of training. As a result of this extensive study, an allergist is the best qualified medical professional to effectively manage the comprehensive needs of patients with allergies, asthma, and diseases of the immune system.
Allergists are trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of immunological problems such as allergic rhinitis , sinusitis, hives, food allergies and asthma. Unlike a cold, allergic disease is not likely to quickly resolve on it’s own. Working with a trained allergist can reduce the frequency of sick days from work or school, and more importantly make you feel better! Studies have shown that those under the care of an allergist make fewer visits to emergency rooms, have fewer hospitalizations for asthma, and are better able to manage their allergic symptoms.
